Making your own hand carved stamp

Making your own hand carved stamp

I have been looking for some yarn stamps.
I found one but it was smaller then I wanted.
I just ordered one and really wanted
it to be personalized. So I thought
I could put the words I wanted around it.
So I went to youtube to see if I could find a video.
Here is the first one I found.

Making your own hand carved stamp
Materials:
- Rubber (Speedball Speedy is what I used)
- Carving tool (I used Speedball Linoleum Cutter
- #2 pencil
- Tracing paper (optional)
- Xacto or retractable blade knife
- Stamp pad
+Paper

1) I first found a design I liked and then just traced over it with my pencil.

2) Once I traced over it all. I then placed it on my speedball speedy rubber and taped it down to hold it in place. With the back of my speedball linoleum cutter I used the back and pressed down a bit to get the pattern onto the stamp.
3) Then I started to cut out. Which was a lot of fun. It did take time but I turned on some music and went to work.
 4) Once I got it to how I felt was good enough. I did a stamp to see how it looked.

I was very happy. I had a few spots that needed touching up. I really thought there would be a bit more since it was my
first time.

Once cleaned up. I did one more stamp test.

I can't wait to make more.
If you try one let me know how it goes and what you think.

Dying cotton yarn

Dying cotton yarn

I have seen a video on dying cotton yarn and wanted to try it.

How to Dye Cotton Yarn with a Tulip Tie Dye Kit

I got some Sugars and Cream white yarn.
I had some left over dye from dying t-shirts with my girls.
So I used those colors. Red, black and green.

I unwound it and and laid it on plastic wrap and a pan.
Just in-case the dye leaked through.

I then started to adding the dye. I did not have enough
to cover it all. But I did want some white parts anyways.
After I got it all on. I then pushed down on it. To make sure it
was all the way through out the whole part I wanted.

Then I covered it up for 3 hours and let it soak in.
I did not want really dark colors. So I did not do it as long
as I would with my t-shirts.

Then I rinsed it out till there was no dye coming out and hung it up
to air dry.

I then used my machine to wind it all up into a ball again.
When I was done. I threw it into a laundry bag and washed it.
Then threw it into the dryer.

I have started to make wash cloths out of this pretty yarn.
I love the way it turned out and can't wait to do it again
in the near future.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Taco Bake

Taco Bake

My girls love this. We did leave out the
Salsa Con Queso. I had them try it and
they did not like it. It turned out really good
without it.

Taco Back

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
* water as called for on back of seasoning packet
3 large flour tortillas (8-inch size)
1/2 cup Salsa Con Queso
1 1/2-2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend

Directions:

Brown and crumble ground beef. Drain excess grease.
Add in taco seasoning and water (following directions on back of seasoning packet).

Once the taco meat is ready, turn off heat and add in 1/2 cup salsa con queso.Give it a good stir until thoroughly combined.

Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Spry an 8-inch round baking pan with nostick cooking spray.
Layer the bottom of the pan with flour tortilla.

Now add about 1/3 of the ground beef taco filling on the first layer.

Then add 1/3 of the shredded cheese.

continue until you are done with all the layers: another tortillla, more taco mixture, more cheese.
Bake at 350F dregrees for about 15-20 mins.
Until  cheese is melted and edges are slightly golden brown.

Allow to cool for a couple of minutes.
Then slice and serve.

We topped ours with sour cream. I also added green onions.

Knotted Hair Bun

Knotted Hair Bun

I like this one. But I do think
my hair needs to be a bit logner
to really get it too look better. If I
decide to wear it down. Like she
says in the video.

It was really easy and fast to do.
I also only used four bobby pins. Which
for me I usually have to use more then that.
I am going to wear this tomorrow at
Scrap Fest. :)

I just love this look and it is just fitting for crocheting.
It reminds me  of the look of a a single crochet look.

It was so easy to do. I used my Bed Head
stuff to hold the fly a ways. But you can use whatever you
would like to.

Here is the link I got it from:

Quick Bun Updo

Quick Bun Updo + Dries to Curls

Today I tried this cute hair style. It was very easy to do.
Here is the video from youtube on how to do it.

I do not put anything in my wet hair. I thought I will try it out
and see how it turns out. I did use a bit of this in the front of my hair.

I got this a few years ago from my beautician.I really like this stuff.
What I like the most is a little goes a long way. That is why I have
had it for so long.

Here is what my hair looks like today.

Not the best side view. Since I took it myself. But you can still see the
bun part.
I can't wait to see what it looks like once my hair drys. I will get picture's
of that later and post it tomorrow for you all to see.

Wow look at all that grey hair. I knew I was getting quite a bit but
this really does surprise me a bit more.

Happy styling!

Creative Idea's

What a great idea this is.

When I get one made I will post pictures. I just need to finish up one of my
containers. I thought this would be great use for our car.

Another one I saw was

I need to get a picture for myself. I don't want to copy and use there's.

Make the most perfect potato wedges for your family using an apple corer/wedger!!!

Coat with olive oil
  salt
 ground black pepper

Place wedges on lined baking sheet. Bake for about 35 minutes at 450.
Turn the wedges half way through to ensure they brown evenly!

Here is another idea I would love to do. When we get this
done I will share pictures too.

If you have any great idea's or things you have done.
Please feel free to share with us. I love
getting lots of different ways to use things
more then one or for one things.

If you would to like me to post some of your great ideas.
Send in a picture of yours and how you did it to
wigglewormscorner@gmail.com
I will make a post about it and share with everyone else.

Crocheted Tutu skirt

Crocheted Tutu Skirt

I had so much fun making this.
Here is the link to the pattern I used.

Baby Tutu

I did do mine a bit different there she did.

She had it where you tie off at the end and then start with the first
ruffle at the top. I added my first one at the bottom and worked my way up.
Which I am glad I did. I like this one with just three ruffles. Instead
of four ruffs.

I also need to add another button to the back. One is just not enough. She had where you
sew it closed. I thought adding a button would be cute this way. I do really like it. But like
I said I need to add one more button. So I don't get this big gap.

I would like to do ones that are longer for my older girls in colors they would like.

I did this one for Football coming up soon.

If you don't know how to crochet and would like one.  Please come to either one of these pages to get one.

Crocheted Clock

Crocheted Clock

I saw a post awhile ago on a crocheted clock. I so wanted
one for my kitchen. But it ended up in our hallway. Which
is fine. I just get to make another one that means.

I went to Hobby Lobby and got the parts needed to make
the clock.

So what I did was just make a circle till it was about the same
size as the as the round board.  I made sure the center could
go around the clock parts that needed to stick out.

I then added a trim and put it on the board and drew a cicle
around the center part.

We then knew were to make a whole. My hubby did this
for me this time. To show me what to do. So next time
I can make one myself.

I then crocheted 4 different flowers for 3,6,9,12 and used
buttons for all other numbers. I just hot glued the yarn
to the board.

I am in love with my clock.

Think of all the yarn options out there.

If you would like one visit me on Wiggleworms Corner on Facebook. Send me
a message and we will work out the deals for you.

sl st = slip stitch
st = stitch

Top square piece to tie -
Chain 6
Row 1: sc in second loop from hook, sc in each loop across.  (5)
Row 2-5: sc in each st across (5)
chain one and sc around. I put two sc in the corners. Then fasten off.

Bottom  part of tie -
chain 4
Row 1: sc in second loop from hook, sc in each loop across (3)
Row 2-7: sc in each st across
Row 8: increase in first st, sc, increase in last st (5)
Row 9-21: sc in each st across
Row 22: sc, decrease, sc in nest two (4)
Row 23: sc, decrease, sc (3)

Tie around the neck -

No Heat Loose Curls

Here is another way I tired with no heat curls.

I am not to sure about this one. I did not like the
way it felt around my neck all night long. I had
strange dreams and did not sleep well.

Here is what it looked like before I went to bed.

Here is what it looked like after I got up in the morning.
Sorry it is blurry. I did not look to see how it turned out.
Can't concentrate that well that early.
It stayed in really well.

As I was taking it out. It did not give me much curl. It was more
of a wave. Either I did not put enough water on it or well my
hair is not as long as hers.

I do like the wave it gave me.

Link to video I got it from:

2 Minute NO HEAT Loose Curls

If you try this or any of the others one I post about. I would love
to hear about it. Well I am off to crochet a wall clock for
my kitchen. I will post about it when I am all done.
